Kashful Mahjoob is among the great and earliest books on Islamic mysticism. It was written by Hazrat Ali Bin Usman Al-Hajveri (R.A). He is famous with the name of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (R.A).

Here some other details about the author are added. Data Sahib was a Hashmi Sayyed. His lineage reaches to Hazrat Ali (R.A) from Hazrat Hassan (R.A). There are different views about the exact date of birth and death of Data Sahib. Some information about his life is present in Kashful Mahjoob.
Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (R.A) was a follower of Junaidi maslak of spirituality. Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi (R.A) is among the chain of spiritual masters that reaches Data Sahib. Data Ganj Bakhsh (R.A) followed Hazrat Imam Abu Hanifa (R.A) in fiqh. He himself had sound knowledge of Quran, Hadith and Fiqh.

The book is also translated into English, Russian and other languages due to its popularity. Kashful Mahjoob is highly esteemed by both Sufis and Saints alike.
