Seerat un Nabi (S.A.W.W) means the life history and life events of Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H). So many books have been written on the noble personality of last messenger of Allah Almighty. He (P.B.U.H) is the only personality in the world, whose detailed life events are preserved in Seerat Books. Holy Quran also highlights the Seerat of Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H). Seerat un Nabi has been written by many authors and in different styles. Allama Shibli Nomani is the author of the book under consideration. Allama Shibli Nomani could not live long to complete his work. So, remaining part of the book was written by Syed Sulaiman Nadavi.
Some words about Allama Shibli Nomani
Shibli was a renowned Islamic scholar and educationist of his time. He was born in 1857 at Azamgarh. He joined Aligarh College run by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan as a lecturer of Arabic. There arose differences between Sir Syed and Shibli. After death of Sir Syed, he left Sir Syed college.
Shibli Nomani was among the pioneering scholars of Nadwa tul Ulema founded by Maulvi Abdul Ghafoor. The success of Nadwa tul Ulema can rightly be attributed to him. Shibli then established Dar-ul-Musanifin. He worked day and night for the success of Nadwa. The religious thoughts of Shibli and his character were not in accordance. With the passage of time, he lost popularity among teachers of Nadwa.
Shibli had some students who carried on his religious thoughts. These people also influenced the politics of Indian Sub-continent. These include Abul Kalam Azad and Syed Sulaiman Nadvi. Shibli Nomani wrote some famous religious books. These include the following books:
