Shikwa Jawab e Shikwa are two separate poems written by Allama Muhammad Iqbal. These are very famous urdu poems.
About the Poet
Allama Iqbal was born in 1877. He is the national poet and thinker of the idea of Pakistan. He did poetry in both Urdu and Persian languages. Many of his books have got due popularity. He could not live long to see Pakistan came into being and died in 1938.
Review of Shikwa Jawab e Shikwa Urdu
The theme of poem Shikwa is that a Muslim complains and expresses dissatisfaction towards what he has at present. His complain is to Allah Almighty. The Muslim enforces what he has done for the cause of Islam and has not got that much in return. Shikwa poem has more than sixty verses.
Then Allama Iqbal then wrote Jawab e Shikwa. Jawab e Shikwa was written to answer the question arisen by a Muslim in Shikwa. Jawab e Shikwa pin points all the flaws and weaknesses of a Muslim. It gives the reasons for their downfall. The main reason given is that they have leave the path of their ancestors. They have broken their link with the Holy Quran. That is the cause for their loss of glory and respect. Jawab e Shikwa has more than ninety verses in total. Jawab e Shikwa ends with the following verse:
